SRC Vice President Candidates
Gail Wilson
Personal Statement
My name is Gail and I’m your current SRC Vice President. Before I was elected I studied at UWE for 5 years as both an undergraduate and a postgraduate student at Hartpury. I’m running for re-election because although I’ve already achieved so much in this role, there is still so much I want to do.
Being SRC Vice President has given me even more passion and determination to represent students and fight for positive change. During my time so far in this role I have learnt so much and developed as a person. If re-elected I will continue to use these skills and my experience to your advantage and I will keep on improving your student experience.
Being re-elected would mean I could get straight on with the job, hit the ground running with the new team and finish what I have started.
Re-elect Gail SRC Vice President!
Manifesto
I believe that everyone who comes to UWE should receive a quality education. If you re-elect me I promise to continue to put academic issues front and centre, fighting for improvements in your learning experience. We need to ensure that everyone, no matter what their course, or where they study, has the resources they need.
My top priority this year has been putting pressure on the University to improve your assessment feedback. This has started to work but there is still a lot more to do to ensure that these improvements start to make their way down to students.
I will ensure that the University makes developing quality, modern learning spaces their priority on the new campus, while at the same time fighting for improvements with the current spaces so you are not forgotten.
In every part of UWE it is vital that your student voice is heard loud and clear, to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of students. I will endeavour to consult thoroughly on issues that affect you and represent these views to the people who matter.
Finally I want to make the Students’ Union more accessible to all students. Whatever sort of relationship you have with your Students’ Union and however you want to get involved, it should be easier and simpler.
I will make sure that every part of the Students’ Union is open to all UWE students and will represent ALL of you, no matter what your background, participation or interest.
Bullet Points
- Ensure your student voice, no matter where it’s from, is heard loud and clear
- Continue to fight for your learning experience, making it the best it can be
- Lobby UWE for better assessment feedback at all levels so students see improvements
- Fight for new and exciting learning spaces as a priority in the development of Frenchay
- Make sure your Students’ Union is easier to get involved in for all students
No Suitable Candidate
No Suitable Candidate is option if you think none of the other candidates are capable of doing a good job. If NSC wins the election, nominations will re-open, and other people will have the opportunity to put themselves forward for the post.
