"We all agree: publicity is the key"
Getting the word out about your club or society is vital if you are to enjoy success during the academic year. More members mean more money for activities and purchases to help students enjoy as good an experience as possible during there time here.
To help you there are a number of ways in which we can help you promote your club:
- Freshers' Fair. This is your first opportunity to interact with students and is your best chance to get members. A 2007 Freshers' Fair booking form can be found here .
- The Sports and Activities Handbook. Available across all campuses, each club and society is able to include information on their activities, where they meet, joining fee and contact details. A handbook entry form can be found here .
- UWESU website. Each club and society has an individual page on the www.uwesu.org server and a webpage on the www.uwesu.net server. To set up your page simply email Neil.Clark@uwe.ac.uk or visit him in the SU Media Centre in 5F9 at Frenchay.
- SU News. Sent out weekly during term time, SU news is emailed to over 16,000 students and is a great way to get the word out about upcoming events and activities. To be included, email details of the event to Mark2.Foster@uwe.ac.uk (sports) or Chris.Anthony@uwe.ac.uk (societies).
- SubTV. Featured in SU bars, this is a very visual way to show off upcoming events. Email Neil.Clark@uwe.ac.uk for more details on the technical requirements.
- Western Eye. Available across all campuses, articles can be submitted on almost any subject. Send all articles to Tom Pountney at Western.Eye@uwe.ac.uk .
- The Hub radio station. Contact station manager at Hub.Info@uwe.ac.uk if you want a slot on the radio or just have an event to plug.
- Posters and flyers. The old fashioned way to get your event noticed. Each club and society has a photocopier code. Costs are charged direct to your account. We also have an in-house graphic designer for when Paint just won't cut the mustard. For help in creating poster masterpieces, contact Rachel2.Shircore@uwe.ac.uk .
