If you’re a member of a sports club, it’s now time to be thinking about running for a position on the committee!

How do you run?

Any student is entitled to run for a position, and it’s really easy to do! Just turn up to your club’s Annual General Meeting, which will be happening in February and say a few things about why you want to be on the committee and what you want to achieve! There will be more information about dates and locations to follow…

What positions can you run for?

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Equipment Officer
  • Safety Officer
  • Social Secretary

There may also be other positions that are specific to your club, so talk to your current committee to discover all your opportunities.

Why should you be on the committee?

  • It looks great on your CV
  • You can meet new people
  • You can improve or change things within your club/society
  • You will have free access to first aid training, minibus training and various other forms of training
  • You can use your personal interests to develop your club/society
  • AVE’IT volunteering recognition.

What else?

We offer plenty of training to ensure you all know what you’re doing and understand how you can get the most out of your club! If you have any questions about what it might involve or something that you may be unsure of please talk to your current committee or come in to the Sports and Activities Centre for a chat.
