Other Debts

Debts are usually classed as either priority or non priority but whatever debts you have you it is important that you do not ignore them.

Priority debts are classed as those that involve the loss of a person's liberty, home or utilities. They include:

  • rent arrears
  • council tax arrears
  • unpaid fines

Non priority debts are still important but are not an immediate threat. Examples of non priority are debts to catalogue and credit card companies and overdrafts.

If you have any debts at all then it is important that you make contact with the person/company you owe money to. The Advice Centre will be able to do this on your behalf.

If you would like help with contacting creditors then please get in touch with us.

REMEMBER - don't leave it until it's too late.
