Dear UWE Students & Staff.
Dom here again, your Student Representative Council President.
We are very pleased to announce that after considerably pressure from myself, the Students' Union and more importantly, you, the students we have the following information to announce.
A completely new, enhanced and more importantly, a practical timetable has been produced for the Ulink Bus Service and is almost ready to be launched.
Our greatest achievement is the new U4 service, with buses ferrying people to from Frenchay Campus to the City Centre. This service will now take the pressure off the U1 and U3 dealing with the huge capacity problems.
We have also managed to design the timetable to cater for the traditional flyer route, from St Matt's to Frenchay and vice-versa. The U3 will now follow a timetable very similar to that of the flyer, while also connecting those campuses to the City Centre. With free transport remaining for cross campus students.
We are also pleased to announce that the new timetable will also see 2 buses per hour traveling down to Bower Ashton. Also with this comes a promise that more reliable journeys are to be achieved by increasing the time buses wait at Bower Ashton and Frenchay. So if they are delayed they will be able to get back on schedule.
We can also inform you that due to the success and popularity of the Ulink service, long term future plans will hopefully see the introduction of a UWE - Bristol Parkway link.
The new timetable is now with the Traffic Commission awaiting their approval and the University is hopeful that this will soon be granted.
On a personal level, I would like to again note that never in recent history has a bus company or the University put so such focus, effort and resources on transport.
YOUR feedback is still VITAL to the continued improvement and growth of Ulink. Please collect feedback forms from Students' Union campus offices and tell us what you think, and in the next few weeks use your newly elected student reps to feedback what is felt through your School/Faculty Student Councils.
With your feedback, your Students' Union can work to ensure that we have a transport service that the university is proud of, students feel is reliable, efficient and value for money.

Many Thanks
Dom Passfield
