New Tactics To Beat Anti-Social Drinking

A new campaign has been launched to help tackle the binge drinking culture that blights Britain. Squeeze Promotions is aiming to help reduce anti-social behaviour such as fighting and vandalism by educating young adult drinkers from within the heart of the drinking circuit.

The project (supported by Drinkaware.co.uk) has reps attending festivals and events, throughout the South West, taking digital photos and distributing message cards with tips and advice on responsible drinking. Clubbers and music event goers can re-live their night out at www.squeezephotos.com, and at the same time get practical tips about alcohol and drinking. Bristol City Council have shown their backing of the scheme inviting squeezephotos.com reps to attend the EDF Bristol Harbour Festival, as have organisers of the Orange Ashton Court Festival and the International Balloon Fiesta amongst others.

Kevin King, Managing Director of Squeeze Promotions says "We are well placed to help those in the entertainment industry curb binge drinking, and reduce the levels of anti-social behaviour that can result from it. Nights out should be 100% safe for everyone to enjoy, and we are working hard with licensed trade to make this a reality".

With excessive drinking killing around 22,000 people every year Squeeze Promotions is working closely with nightclubs as well as event organisers and Universities keen to endorse the responsible drinking message. It will be collaborating with UWE and The University of Bristol Students' Union during Freshers' Week and other student events throughout the year.

Visitors to squeezephotos.com can freely access photos and information on past and forthcoming events, or join up as a 'crew' member to submit their own event photos. The site offers interactive features such as vote based photo competitions, an extensive festival guide and personalised picture phone accounts to its members.
