LGBT groups have been found to be one of the most successful ways of promoting the rights and welfare of LGBT students, and yet there are very few groups in further education colleges throughout the UK. NUS, with funding from v, the new youth volunteering charity, and the LGBT Consortium, is offering 28 students the opportunity to work with NUS to set up LGBT societies in further education colleges across the UK.
Volunteers will receive training in capacity building and developing groups, and will then be paired with other volunteers to set up LGBT groups where they don’t exist already. All expenses will be paid.
