  • Badminton: Women 1st team Division 2 Runners up & Conference Cup Finalists
  • Football: Women 1st team Divison 2 Runners up | Men’s 2nd team Divison 3 Runners up
  • Fencing: Men’s 1st Team League Champions & Premier League Play off place | Men’s 1st Team Trophy Runners up | Men’s Individual Foil Silver
  • Hockey: Men’s 1st team Division 1 Runners up & Premier League Play off place
  • Netball: 1st team Division 1 Champions & Premier League Play-off place | 2nd team Division 3 Champions | 3rd team Division 4 Runners up
  • Rowing: The Varsity Boat Race site licence has been approved for the south side of the river for the first time in the events history.
  • Rugby League: 1st team Division 1 League Champions
  • Rugby Union Men: Men’s Team Trophy Finalists
  • Rugby Union Women: 1st Team Trophy Semi-Finalists
  • Snowsports: Men’s Individual Gold [Snowboard Giant Slalom]
  • Squash: Men’s Individual Gold, Silver & Bronze | Men’s Team Gold | Men’s 1st Team Division 1 Champions | Men’s 2nd team Division 2 Champions
  • Tennis: Men’s 2nd team Division 3 Champions
  • Trampoline: Men’s Individual Gold | Men’s Team Gold
  • Trampoline: UWESU hosted the BUCS Trampoline Championships finals

 

Societies

 

  • 12 new societies for this academic year
  • Over 1100 students are part of one or more societies.
  • 3 international society trips this year
  • 2 societies competing in the Varsity series
  • Guest speakers from societies include a Nobel prize winner
  • Planning for Model United Nations Conference (PAIRS) in October
  • All Societies and Communications committee meetings well attended this year.
  • ULAB Conference has had papers submitted from all over the world.
  • Forensic Science have trained 40 special constables
  • Darts are South West Champions and came second in the University Cup
  • Drama are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe in August
  • Political societies have held joint debates chaired by PAIRS
  • Paintball came second place in Southern Masters competition
  • Hub Radio have a re-furbished studio and broadcast live hustings and election results
  • 40 members of LabSoc have completed Marine Mammal Medic training
