Site Activities/Residence Committees
16. Site Activities Committees
At each campus there shall be a Site Activities Committee the membership and functions of which shall be as follows:
16.1 Membership
The members who shall be entitled to vote at meetings shall be the Chairperson and six further members who shall be students whose programme of study is based at that site;
16.2 Functions
- To facilitate a sense of community and identification;
- To organise a programme of social activities for the students of that site;
- To liaise with the Activities Council and the Sports Council
so as to support student participation in sport and activities across the University;
- To co-opt such additional non-voting members as is deemed appropriate
16.3 Quorum
A quorum of 50% of the members shall be attained before any business may be transacted
17. Residence Committees
In accordance with a schedule agreed annually by the Student Representative Council
there shall be a Residence Committee for each University residence or group of residences. The membership and functions of those committees shall be as follows:
17.1 Membership
The members who shall be entitled to vote at meetings shall be the Chairperson and six further members who shall be students who are accommodated at that residence
17.2 Functions
- To facilitate a sense of community and identification;
- To effect represent the students at that residence on the Activities Council;
- To organise a programme of social activities for the students at that residence;
- To liaise with the Activities Council and the Sports Council so as to support student participation in sport and activities across the University;
- To represents the views of the students at that residence on matters relating that residence,
- To advise the Student Representative Council on matters relating to that residence.
- To co-opt such additional non-voting members as is deemed appropriate
17.3 Quorum
A quorum of 50% of the members shall be attained before any business may be transacted
