Student Reps

Hearing and responding to the student voice is one of the most important roles of a Students’ Union and something we are totally committed to at UWE Students’ Union.

This webpage contains lots of information about the Student Representative system for students and staff; and all the resources necessary for our current Student Reps and Halls Reps.

Hi! I’m Colin, and I am your Student Representative Council (SRC) President for 2010/11.

I have been newly elected into Presidency by the students of UWE to ensure your student voice is heard loud and clear! UWE is an incredibly diverse, unique and exciting institution and as one of your four student body presidents it’s my job to ensure you get the best out of your time here and to ensure that the changes made at UWE reflect your best interests.

UWE and your Student Union have an incredible amount to offer so make the most of your student experience!

Hi I’m Gail your Student Representation Council (SRC) Vice President for 2010/11.

This is my 2nd year as a president after being re-elected but before that I studied for 5 years at Hartpury College as an undergrad and postgrad student. My role alongside with the other 3 presidents is to represent and support you as students here at UWE, and my focus is on academic issues, from assessment feedback to teaching quality.

UWE is a great place to study and Bristol is a great place to live so get stuck in and enjoy it!

Rep Awards 2010

This year the Student Rep Awards 2010 were hosted at the Thistle Hotel, Broad St, Bristol on Thursday 22nd April.

About Student Reps

Student Reps are the recognised means by which you can comment on your course, your university and your Students' Union. If you are concerned or want an input on your student experience, through student reps you can have your voice heard!

Become A Student Rep At UWE

This section contains information about the role of a student rep, and how you can become one. Student reps are recruited from the start of the academic year in September/October. We would normally expect all rep vacancies to be filled by late October. Student reps do not roll over from one year to the next, so there will always be opportunities to be involved at levels 2 and 3 of undergraduate study for students to be involved who did not sign up in their first year.

Staff Resource Area

Welcome to the Student Reps staff resource area. This section should hopefully makes things little clearer about the role of reps and how staff are involved. The Student Rep resource area also has useful information about the rep role which we recommend staff also have a look at.

Rep Certificates

During your year as a rep you have the opportunity to gain a rep certificate. To gain a certificate you will need to complete three goals and attend fundamental training. The goals can be anything from improving communication to meeting new people. You will get told all about the scheme when you go to training
