Student Reps - The Success Stories

Student Reps play an important role in improving the student experience here at UWE, why don't you have a quick look to see what your reps have done for you!

About Student Reps

What does a Student Rep Do?

In short: Student Reps are the recognised means by which you can comment on your course, your university and your Students' Union. If you are concerned or want an input on your student experience, through student reps you can have your voice heard!

Become A Rep 09/10

This section contains information about the role of a student rep, and how you can become one. Student reps are recruited from the start of the academic year in September/October. We would normally expect all rep vacancies to be filled by late October. Student reps do not roll over from one year to the next, so there will always be opportunities to be involved at levels 2 and 3 of undergraduate study for students to be involved who did not sign up in their first year.

This section is for student reps who quickly want to access some information.

You can find your rep handbooks, details on how you get paid, and some information on some events reps have been involved with in the past, such as the QAA submission.

Staff Resource Area

Welcome to the Student Reps staff resource area. This section should hopefully makes things little clearer about the role of reps and how staff are involved. The Student Rep resource area also has useful information about the rep role which we recommend staff also have a look at.

Rep Certificates

During your year as a rep you have the opportunity to gain a rep certificate. To gain a certificate you will need to complete three goals and attend fundamental training. The goals can be anything from improving communication to meeting new people. You will get told all about the scheme when you go to training

Katy Phillips

Hello!!!

Katy Phillips

My name is Katy Phillips, your Student Representative President for 2009/10. This means that I am here for you, the students, working on projects you've asked me to, or on issues which affect your UWE lives.

I also represent all of you at university and union meetings to ensure decisions are made in your best interest.

I've just completed a year as SRC Vice President and it went sooo fast! A year of fulfilling manifesto pledges and trying to ensure each and every one of you was represented and your voices heard was a stretch at times, but something in me wanted another go so I stood in the elections to be your SRC President.

If you have any questions or want to see something about your Union change PLEASE get in touch. This is your University, and YOUR UWE experience...it should be nothing short of ace!
