More Information

Didn't get into UWE? No problem

Refunds are available for anyone who doesn't make it into UWE for whatever reason. Unfortunately, there are no other circumstances we refund tickets.

What does the Wristband include?

There are two wristbands available. The All Events Wristband (pink) gives you entry to all official UWE Freshers' events. That's every event listed on this website. You will also get queue-jump for you and a friend (they need their own ticket). The Main Events Wristband (yellow) gives you entry to all of the official Main UWE Freshers' events. These are listed under the Main Events section of the website, and have the yellow Main Events logo on the banners on the website and on Facebook. There is a Main Event on every night.

What is a Main Event?

The Main events are the biggest events on that day. They are listed on the Main Events section of this website and have been marked with a yellow Main Event logo on the banners on Facebook. If you're worried about what tickets to buy, a safe bet is to buy these since you will have somewhere to go every night and chances are at least some of your friends will also be going!

Why is the Main Events Wristband more expensive than buying the events individually?

The wristband offers you peace of mind that you are covered for the whole week and don't need to worry about bringing tickets to any of the events (or loosing it)! It's your choice though, you may wish to buy individually.

Will tickets sell out?

Traditionally, most events sell out ahead of Freshers' Week. Some events sell out faster than other since they're all different sizes. Our Facebook page is a good source to keep up to date over what's selling like hot cakes.

Will any more All Event (Pink) Wristbands be available?

We are overwhelmed by the response to the sales of the Pink Wristband which sold out in just a few hours. We are trying to adapt our event capacities and endeavour to sell more of these wristbands at a later stage in the summer. We can't confirm this will be possible however so strongly encourage you to buy tickets as soon as you can.

Ticket deliveries and lost tickets

We aim to deliver tickets within 5 working days. Please note we do not offer an E-ticket (unless we have sent one to you after prior arrangement). Please keep hold of your ticket! We can only replace tickets which have been lost in the post.

Will you post my tickets or can I collect?

In most instances we will post your ticket to your specified address. However we will not post your ticket if you are based overseas (non-UK) or if you are staying in student halls. You don't have to do anything to mark as collection, we will automatically hold these envelopes back for collection. Closer towards Freshers Week we will hold your ticket for collection regardless of address since you may order your ticket and miss it in the post as you move to Bristol. This will be clearly marked on your receipt.

Delivery and international addresses

If you have an international address, we will hold the tickets here automatically at UWE (Frenchay Campus). You can collect your tickets from Red Bar once you arrive (from the 13th September).

When can I collect my ticket or wristband?

From Friday 13th September from the Ticket Office in Red Bar on Frenchay Campus. The Ticket Office will remain open throughout Freshers Week including Welcome Weekend.

Wristband Tickets

If you have ordered a wristband, you will be sent a paper ticket (or one will be waiting for your collection - see above). You must bring this ticket to the Ticket Office in Red Bar to exchange for an actual wristband. We cannot issue the wristband without placing it on your wrist so you cannot send someone on your behalf to collect the wristband. You can't gain entry to events using your Wristband paper ticket, you must exchange this for a wristband to gain entry.

Can I upgrade my Yellow Wristband to Pink?

No. Afraid not. The Pink Wristbands are extremely limited supply.

Ticket Validity

Your ticket is valid for two hours from the start time of the event (this is stated on your ticket). After this we hold the right to re-sale your ticket to those wishing to come in and pay on the door. We will still let you in with your ticket if you arrive after this time but you may have to queue on a one-in-one-out basis for capacity reasons at the venue. Please arrive on time to avoid disappointment.

Free events, non-ticketed events

Just turn up! But please arrive early as we can never guarantee entry.

Bring your papers!

Please bring age ID to ALL UWE Freshers' events. Driving licence or passports, please. ID will be asked for 100% of guests at all of our venue doors, no exceptions.

Purchasing tickets on arrival

It's a risky option, but you could wait until you arrive at UWE to buy your tickets. For the last 3 years, this has left a lot of disappointed Freshers! Some events will have tickets available at the door. Please arrive at the start time and join the queue. Prices may be increased at the door.

What's the line-up?

Check out the individual events for the different line-ups.

Other (non-official) Freshers' events

Look out for any Freshers' events which are trying to look official. They might exist, but they're not the events which all the new students will be going to! The official UWE Freshers' Week is ran by your students' union, which is a non-profit organisation. We ensure value for money is delivered at every Freshers' event - not just another clubnight!

I'm not at UWE, can I come?

Tickets will only be available to buy by Freshers, so you can come as long your friend who's coming to UWE buys the ticket.

Want to bring a friend to an event?

Not a problem, you can bring along up to 4 guests for any UWE Freshers event. If the event is ticketed, you will need to purchase the ticket on their behalf.

Parking for events at Frenchay campus is FREE in Car Parks 2 and 3
