Survey of Social Anxiety in UWE students

If you feel uncomfortable about talking in seminars, have difficulty making presentations and generally try to avoid situations where you are the centre of attention, then you have something in common with an estimated 10 to 20% of the population.

Please read the three statements below...

1. Being embarrassed or looking stupid are my worst fears

2. Fear of embarrassment causes me to avoid doing things or speaking to people

3. I avoid activities in which I am the centre of attention

If you answer 'yes' to there three questions, please take part in our survey.

Being able to communicate effectively to individuals and groups is an important graduate skill and a necessary part of undergraduate study. For that reason, UWE is now conducting an anonymous survey of student anxieties in specific learning situations with a view to developing appropriate support and guidance.
