SHAG Week
It’s SHAG week!!! Which stands for, Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance!
In the lead up to World Aids Day on Saturday 1st December, we thought we’d just make sure you’re all using protection! The shocking statistics are that 1 in 10 people have Chlamydia, and the stats are slightly higher in Bristol…you have been warned!!
If you’re bored of your assignments this week, take a 5 minute break and check out www.gijonny.co.uk and create your own GI, which can be added to your Facebook page to enable you to move up the ranks!
Look out for the GI JONNY team around this week. They’ll be at Frenchay, St Matthias and Bower Ashton Campuses. They’ll be giving out free condoms!
The GI JONNY team will also be out in town at SAS night (Jongleurs) on Wednesday, and at Glamorous (Panache) on Thursday.
We’ll also be testing Men’s football, netball, women’s rugby, cricket and American football teams, and the four SU Presidents for CHLAMYDIA, as part of a National NUS ‘Test your Team’ drive.
St Matts’ World Aids Day Fundraiser.
By Sam Jones, St Matts’ Campus Chair.
St Matts will be hosting a closed auction to raise money in support of World Aids Day. The auction will take place on Friday the 30th November in St Matts’ Students Union, but bidding will be available for two days beforehand. Lots for the auction have already been kindly donated, at the time of going to press, by Virgin, Lush and Evolution amongst others with more expected soon. More details will be available closer to the time.
Please come along to what promises to be a fantastic event, over at St Matts’ campus, which hopefully will raise lots of money for charity.
Don't forget to check out the events at Bower Campus
