Bristol band "Fallen Child" seek UWE's creative talent
A great opportunity to work with Bristol based grunge-funk band.
Fallen Child Student Projects
Fallen Child are a Bristol based grunge-funk band with a well established local following. The band are looking to commission UWE students to help create marketing tools for inclusion in their launch campaign beginning next summer.
The projects on offer will make good subject material for any coursework assignments that fit the criteria, or would make a great addition to a personal portfolio, and we will pay you between £50 and £100 depending on the complexity of the project - not bad for doing a bit of work you were going to do anyway!
If you are interested in having a go at any of the projects below please email sharon.drew@uwe.ac.uk or chrisdixon@rock.com with your name, course title, contact details and details of which project you are interested in. From there we will contact you to arrange a meeting to discuss the project in full, including your ideas, and to lay down timescales for completion.
CD Cover Artwork
We are looking for someone to design a CD cover inlay. The inlay is to be a single page folded booklet to fit inside a 5.2mm slim ‘single’ case, using artistic media of your choice such as photographs, graphics or a combination.
Dimensions for the booklet are as follows: 242mm wide x 120mm tall with 3mm bleed. The booklet must comprise the front cover, inside cover and double-page inside spread.
We would also like to be able to use the artwork themes in other areas such as promotional posters, flyers, website design etc.
Following our initial meeting you be asked to submit a rough design to the band and after agreement you will be commissioned £50 for the completed article upon delivery.
Website
We are looking for a person or group to design and build a functioning professional band website. It must contain information about the band, plus pictures, downloadable music, viewable videos etc. All media content will be provided by the band.
The website must have a feature that allows the band 24/7 access, and must be user-friendly enough in order to update it regularly.
Following our initial meeting you will be asked to submit a rough design to the band and after agreement you will be commissioned £100 for the completed article upon delivery.
Music Video
We are looking for a person or group to create a professional music video for us. Students must choose 1 track from a selection, direct and produce an MTV-style music video to fit with the song.
The completed article must feature the song as a soundtrack. The visual element must contain at least some footage of the band onstage, and may contain other elements such as stock footage or scenes shot by the student.
Following our initial meeting you will be asked to present your storyboard and directorial schedule to the band and after agreement you will be commissioned £75 for the completed article upon delivery.
Stage Backdrop
We are looking for an individual or group to design and create a professional stage backdrop.
The backdrop may be made of whatever material the students wish, however it must be durable, re-usable and must incorporate a practical method of hanging.
Following our initial meeting you will be asked to submit a rough design to the band and after agreement you will be commissioned £50 for the completed article upon delivery. We will supply fabric for the backdrop.
Anything Else?
- Got any other ideas that don’t fit the above categories?
- Not sure how to make a website but think you could do a killer t-shirt design?
- Don’t have a clue about music but have great business sense?
If there’s anything that would make a good project for you that you think we’d be interested in supporting please let us know, we can discuss your ideas further and arrange a commission for you.
If you are interested in having a go at any of the projects please email sharon.drew@uwe.ac.uk or chrisdixon@rock.com with your name, course title, contact details and details of which project you are interested in. From there we will contact you to arrange a meeting to discuss the project in full, including your ideas, and to lay down timescales for completion.
