Indecent Assaults in the Whiteladies Road / Alma Road / Hampton Park Area
There have been a number of indecent assaults on lone females over the past few weeks.
In each case, a lone female has been approached by an unknown male who has been described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, with dark hair and clothing. The attacks have taken place during the evening and the early hours of the morning.
The Police are actively investigating these incidents and have been undertaking extra patrols in the area. Also University of Bristol Security Services are also actively patrolling affected areas.
For your own safety and peace of mind, please follow this advice:
- Keep to well-lit and populated routes. Don't be tempted to take short cuts through unlit areas.
- Don't walk home alone if you can possibly avoid it - either book a taxi or walk with a friend.
- Carry a personal attack alarm.
- Be aware of your surroundings. iPods and personal stereos reduce your awareness of what is happening around you - you might not hear trouble approaching.
- Do not be afraid to ring 999 if you feel you are being followed.
- If you are traveling alone, tell someone where you are going and what time you expect to arrive.
