Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do while you're at university, and it looks great on your CV. While you're a student it's a great time to do something with your free time! There are a number of ways you can get involved while at UWE. Whether you want to make a difference to the local community, get some work experience related to your degree, improve your employability, learn new skills, do some training or just have fun.Get involved with volunteering while you’re a student at UWE and stand out from the crowd. Whether you want to learn a new skill or share an existing one, meet new people or enhance your employability...there is something just for you.
UWESU volunteering specialises in offering you the opportunity to set up your own projects, campaigns and fundraising events to benefit the local community or a cause you feel passionate about. Be supported to become an active citizen and make a mark on your community.

Through UWESU you can apply for up to £100 to kick-start your idea for your project. Find out more about leading your own project here.

If you are in a club or society and would like to run an event you can also get in touch with your Volunteer Support Officer and you also have to opportunity to join the 'Ave it accreditation scheme.

You can also try out volunteering by taking part in a one-off Action Day project, giving you the opportunity to make a difference to your local community and try new things.

In partnership with UWE Student Services you can find out about opportunities to volunteer in the local community in organisations, charities and events to gain new skills to take into the workplace. We also have information on international volunteering and internships.
