LINKS (St Johns Ambulance)
Website (if available)

LINKS is a student division of St. John Ambulance. Our aim is providing First Aid training for students who are interested in becoming involved in providing first aid in the community and on campus. For those who have never done first aid before, all training is provided.
Those with a first aid qualification can come along too, as you can learn new skills and put existing ones into practice. You can get involved with other exciting activities, boosting your CV and broadening your own personal skills. We cover events such as the Hippodrome and T4 on the beach where access is free for those first aiding at the event.
Where They Train / Meet
We meet mostly in E413 on Frenchay Campus at 7.30 on a Thursday. When we are not there we are out on duty first aiding in places like Corston Hall and Bristol Hippodrome, or off learning how to lifeguard at Bath University.
On top of this we sometime have practises using the equipment on ambulances that are brought up to campus or we will use radios and clues to navigate ourselves around campus to improve our communication skills. We have both drinking and non-drinking socials and try and incorporate different types of socials to include everyone.
Most of our trips out are to different first aiding events and to train with different societies. There is also the LINKS conference where all LINKS societies from around the country spend a weekend having fun and improving their skills at the same time.

The only thing you need to take part is a willingness to get involved and get out there. We will give you all the support and training you need to give you the confidence and the skills to go and first aid. Being students ourselves we are very flexible and understand that uni work comes first!
Although we are part of the organisation St John Ambulance, coming along to LINKS does not mean you have to become a member of St John Ambulance. We can get you in touch with people for first aid courses and help you gain confidence in your first aiding skills whether or not you decide to become a member.
