Raise and Give

Raise and Give is something of a university institution across the country. UWE’s own RAG has enthusiastic students dedicated to putting on events and having fun while raising money for charity. A target which is set at £15,000 this year! RAG is led by a student committee and needs lots of student support to maximise the money made for our four charities!

Raise and Give is your one-stop shop for fun, frolics and fundraising, all in the name of charity. This year the awe-inspiring RAG Week will be held in February with events including a trip to Amsterdam, all to raise money for local charities.

Through RAG you can also raise money for any charity of your choice with the support of your Students' Union.

RAG supports national and international charities through putting on events such as Comic Relief and Children in Need as well as RAIDS and collections in town and at events. Other events include Bar crawls, Sweet factory days and more.

2012-2013 RAG Charities

Each year the RAG committee choose 4 charities to support in all the general fundraising events. These are usually charities that work in the Bristol area. This year RAG is supporting Children's Hospice South West, The Invictus Trust, The Vassall Centre and Shelter.

Last year RAG was also involved in raising money for Coppafeel, Comic Relief, Read International, Sue Ryder, Red Cross Japan Disaster appeal and more!

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the year. If you think you’d like to get involved in something fun for a good cause look no further than RAG. If you’d rather leave the organisation to someone else, then don’t worry because you will have the backing of the RAG team and your students union.

If you have a cause or event you want to support then the committee can help you sort this out. We’ve helped hold cake sales, balloon races and Fashion Shows – all ideas given to us by students to support their chosen charities.
